I would probably say it is a BIOS issue as well. Put the other CPU back in and see if it works, if it does you can update the bios. I'm not sure upgrading to an i5 3450 is worth it though since both CPUs are EOL.i wanted to update from i 3 2100 to i5 3450 , everything was great until i boot up my pc and black screen , i tried everything
- reseted bios
- botting up with one less ram or in another slot
i think thats a bios issue
i did everything works fine , but i dont want to work on i3 2100 anymore i want to upgrade it to i5 but i dont know what the issue isI would probably say it is a BIOS issue as well. I would assume a BIOS update is all that is needed, but without knowing what exact motherboard you have, I don't know for sure.i did everything works fine , but i dont want to work on i3 2100 anymore i want to upgrade it to i5 but i dont know what the issue is

Since it is a Dell OEM motherboard I am not sure now. You may have to wait until someone else replies to this thread, because without more information about the specific system and the fact that I am not knowledgable with dell motherboards, I cannot help much more. The Dell motherboard may also not allow you to upgrade the CPU.Dell inc

All i know about this motherboard
You would have to know your exact motherboard and go to dell's website and download the BIOS file from there. There should be an option from the BIOS to update it. (usually the bios file has to be on a USB)Can u atleast tell me how to update bios ?
