I have a homebuilt PC built for gaming, and I am getting crash-to-desktop on most any game I play, save a select few. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my audio and video drivers, monitored my temps (including my RAM by feeling it), I am at my wit's end. Before, I wasn't getting a crash report. Now, after upgrading from a GT 630 GPU to an EVGA GT 760 superclocked, I am getting reports now after the crash (not sure how that made a difference but I can't complain there). Here is one of the crash reports:

Need more info - did you just put this rig together, or did you just swap out the new video card?
Try going back to your previous config and see if it still crashes.

Otherwise, if you don't have a heat problem, many mysterious crashes could come from bad power or, defective RAM. Try swapping power supplies, or running on a stick of trusted RAM, and see if it still crashes.

I am using a 620 Watt 80+ bronze Seagate psu, and the pci-e connectors that fit the gpu, not the molex connectors. It was also doing the same thing before i switched to the new GPU, it wasn't giving me a crash notification until I switched it out. With the old GPU it would just crash to desktop without an error notification or crash report.

I built the rig about June of 2013, didnt use it a lot until about December though, had problems since then, and the drivers I am using are the most recent drivers from Nvidia available (at least that's what GeForce Experience is telling me) and I have "include beta drivers" checked when I search for updates as well.

I just realized I gave you incorrect information, it's a SeaSONIC psu, not SeaGATE lol. More specifically, it is a SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W ATX12V V2.3 power supply. The specs on the rest of the build are as follows:

MOBO = ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

RAM = Corsair Vengeance 8gb (2 x 4gb) 240 pin DDR3

GPU = EVGA Superclocked GTX 760 2GB DDR5

I used my old WD 320 HDD from my old pc, which seems to be fully functional (albeit a little on the full side lol) If it makes a difference, the case everything is housed in is a CoolerMaster HAF 912, and I made sure airflow was not an issue per my cable management. I also checked to see if my RAM was getting hot and it was not at all hot.

If you had problems before swapping GPUs, then that's not faulty. It sounds like you might have had problems from the get go, and you just didn't notice it until you really started using your rig. By my experience, if you can rule out software problems, if there are mysterious problems crashing, I usually start with unstable power or defective RAM. Seasonic is a pretty good brand name for power though.

What about non-gaming use? does it also have mysterious reboots and crashes too?

I only have this problem in-game. other GPU or RAM intensive programs don't seem to be an issue (Daz 3D, Blender, etc.) I also made it a point to get the SeaSonic PSU for that reason, it's rated really high and it uses the Japanese capacitors. I am gonna test it again tonight after work as I have done a complete re-install of Windows 7 and haven't tested it in game yet. Keeping my fingers crossed lol

It seems I have an update (somewhat anyway). I have re-installed Windows 7 after completely wiping my HDD, re-installed all the necessary drivers, and the games I mainly play. I tested both Hawken AND Skyrim (vanilla, no mods this time) and both are still crashing. Skyrim seems to crash before I even get to character selection, and Hawken is seemingly at random. I disabled my onboard sound, and am now only running my sound through my HDMI to my TV that I'm using as my monitor. I tested my memory, came out okay. I even ran Performance test, again, everything is in the green. I then decided to try a game that wasn't a Steam-driven game, Assassins Creed. I installed it via game disk. I have not had a single issue with it. It seems that only my games ran with Steam are crashing..... grr. Any suggestions?
