MB is an Asus Prime B550M-A Wifi
AMD 3700X (dont think this matters?)

I just plugged in a Adata Gammix S50 Lite 2Tb into the M2.1 slot and it refuses to show up in BIOS or windows (scanning it using disk partition manager shows nothing).

I am currently booting from a SSD plugged into my SATA 2 slot. (SATA 3 is also being used by another SSD) SATA 1 and 4 are empty.

PC is booting and working fine otherwise.

Its driving me nuts! Help please please please!

If BIOS screenshots or any other pics required. Please let me know. Thank you.

Solution
Which M.2 slot did you install it in? Only the top slot can do PCIe Gen4, the lower slot is gen3. Though the drive is supposed to be backwards compatible: Shown on page 11 of the user manual: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/...(WI-FI)/E16551_PRIME_B550M-A_WI-FI_UM_WEB.pdf

Ryzen 3XXX cpu's are the first PCIe gen4 compatible cpu's, so make sure it is a 3700x and not a 2700x.

Thanks I solved it. It was a simple case of me over tightening the holding screw. I took it off, remounted with less screw pressure and it started working.
