It is warning of impending death. If you can access it, copy any important data off it and get a new drive.

Yeah, that's a bad sign. You can call LaCie directly if you want to know specifically what the beeping indicates, but it doesn't indicate anything good.

As ss202sl said, back up your data and replace, ASAP!
