Please help me decide: GTX 1070 or 1080

Hello everyone!

Here's the planned setup:

i7-8700 (non K)
CM Hyper 212 Led Turbo
Aorus Z370 Ultra Gaming
2x8gb DDR4 3200 CL16
Corsair TX750M 80+ Gold
275gb Crucial MX300 M.2
500gb Samsung 850 Evo
Viewsonic XG2401 144hz 1080p

Games I wanna play:
Rise of Tomb Raider
Witcher 3
BF1
GTA V
Crysis 3
ME Andromeda
Skyrim
Fallout 4
Overwatch
Doom

I wanna be able to play all these titles at max settings without a hiccup. I can't decide whether to get a GTX1070 which is good enough for 1080p, or GTX1080 which leaves room for 1440p should I upgrade my monitor. GTX1080Ti is not an option, budget-wise.

What to do?

It depends, do you have a strict budget? If That is not a problem go for the 1080 hands down. Simply because there was a massive jump in the 1070 price. (From 350 to 500) and the price per performance is in the 1080. Anyways whatever way you go, you can run all those titles butter smooth at 1080p. However with the 1080, it is about 30% better then the 1070. Bottom line I suggest the 1080 over the 1070.

Going with a GTX 1080 is a much better choice, much more powerful card.

Convincing win for the GTX1080.

I am aware of the 1070ti releasing currently, but it doesn't make sense to me. Can't be OCed, and seems you can get the same performance out of an OCed 1070.
