So I finally got my new build to work installed windows xp with an anthlon II processor. Everything worked great. updated my bios to 1501 so i can use my fx8320 processor. swapped the fx8320 in. on loading windows xp i get the bsod.
it only happened when i switched out the processors so i know that is the root of the problem.
Also when i tried to reinstall windows xp i get the bsod while its installing.

I hear its a driver problem, in that case how can i reinstall or fix the drivers?

Had the same BSOD's on my old computer and various others like PAGE fault in non paged area, i ended up just getting a replacement which fixed it. But in your case there might be some solutions.
1. Try uninstalling your graphics card drivers, then boot your pc into safe mode and run driver sweeper to remove any existing drivers causing problems. Then reinstall the proper driver from the radeon site.
2. Run memtest for like 4 passes off a usb flash drive or something and it will check for any ram errors which may be causing the problem. I recommend doing it overnight as it takes around 2-3 hours.

This sounds more like the chipset drivers to me. The memory controller of the FX is a whole lot different than the Athlon 2. Just to confirm the Athlon 2 is a multi-core processor? I can't remember that far back. If it's a unicore processor, you will have issues going to a Multi-Core because the HAL that windows was installed with would have been the Uni-Core version instead of the Multi-Core version.
But, 1st place I would look is the chipset drivers. Update them with the latest for your OS.

In asus M4 and M5 series - check system info (windows accessory program) and find last option, error list .. It is easiest way find errors.
There can be line where error is connected to aeappinv2, this mean it is may be failing bios .. This can be anyway fine but it is may be needed to reflash (to version 8, asus tell that is not supported to downgrade and says they don't recommend to do so).

IT ALSO CAUSED ABOUT HEATING what is more usual. I worked several weeks before I find out, that mainboard can get unstable just at 42 degrees of Celsius. I solved my problem after that with couple extra FAN, just one is needed to blow lower side of cpu (put that fan to bottom or left cover to cool chipset and power chips (kernel-power-... errors can be also related to this) This problem will appear when you have very hot processor and devices on case, even have as I had 12cm fan on bottom of 620W PSU). It did not take heat out much as needed and produced it much by selve.

BAD side of this is, my system become quite noisy... So get really silent type FAN... and put much as possible something to kill echo of case when it is something thin metal ... This blow keeps quite much sound.
