Can i use the portable hdd like i would my ssd and just leave it in? I will be using it to store all my videos and long term files here is a link to it.

These types of external HDD are classed as portable that is why when I buy drives that are going to be plugged in permanently I buy desktop external hdd with separate power connector.

I personally would not use them as a data drive solution, these are better for backups.

Any reason you can't put another HDD in the computer?

Im Australian so everything over here is 5x as expensive
