just installed my new graphics card i reboot the pc it shows the first logo for my motherboard then the screen just goes black help im so confused it is connected by dvi btw

What graphics card is it? When you say the "first logo" is this just your computers bios logo, or does it make it all the way to the windows logo?
If you don't see the windows logo, whats happening is the card isn't telling windows to output to the dvi. Try plugging a monitor using a different cable, or even a tv using hdmi to see if you can at least get into windows to install the updated drivers for your video card.

the graphics car is a msi R9 270x the first logo is an asrock mobo logo it doesent get to the windows logo but i can use the pc without the graphics card installed. should i install the drivers because it should show somthing without them

already done dude!

so you were able to use this PC fine, up until you replaced the graphics card?

I may have some suggestions to try;

1) Try another PCI-E Slot, no matter if it is running in X8, it can give an idea if it is due to the slot.

2) What pin power cables have been used to power the card?, The card may currently have the incorrect pin connections being utilized, have you got 2x6 pin power cables currently connected?

3) What PCI pin outputs does the power supply support, if not the right outputs, this will explain the black screen occurring.

So what you're saying is that you can use windows with the built in video card? If so, plug back into that built in one (leaving your video card installed) and then download and install the most up to date nvidia r9 200 series catalyst drivers and see if that helps. When rebooting you should be able to plug into the new card after that.

1) only got 1 pcie slot

2)i have got 2x6 pin on a 600w psu

3)havent got a clue what your saying

gonna try this now but i cant do it with graphics card installed or it doesent display anything

Well thats what it's supposed to do. The motherboard should automatically choose that video card over the built in one. The problem is, Windows doesn't know what to do when it starts loading up.
Make sure you're plugged into the internet to see if winows can automatically download and install a driver for the card.
If this doesn't work. Pull the card out, boot into windows, and go to AMD.com try installing just the display drivers out of the catalyst install software to see if it will let you. Then you might be able to boot into windows to finish the full install.

what are these 2x6 pin connectors leading into on the PSU, is number 3. You may have the 6 pin power cords in the wrong PCI power output.
