Update: Cancelled the order, decided to just build a PC

Hi all,

Happy holiday weekend!

I recently purchased a system from CyberPower - I think I have a fairly good deal at $2,002 dollars for the system so I do not want to cancel the purchase.

Unfortunately, I figured the default PSU would be fine and made a mistake. it sounds like there are some problems that people have brought up about using standard PSUs. I would really appreciate some guidance from the Tom's Hardware community. My plan is to get the system and check if there are any known issues with the PSU. If the PSU is unknown I would prob just replace it.

Could someone please let me know if:

  • Is it a reasonable price for the system?
Would I be ok with replacing the PSU with Thermaltake Toughpower TPD-0750M - SLI / CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Gold 750 Watt <http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817153198>
Is there a reason I should absolutely cancel the system. If so, why?

Solution
you should be able to use the thermaltake. but the system IS overpriced compared to build your own. Cyberpower also has a rep of poor build quality

the thermaltake is only 'okay' as far as PSU quality goes, but probly better than the 800W no-name.

still $2000 can buy a very powerful system, though probly not the free games.
