I have been having some issues with my pc. Windows will show i have 8GB Ram installed but it says i only have 4GB usable. So i read that i might have to reflash my bios. Which i did by downloading the update files from msi. After the up date the pc restarted but just showed a black screen. So i rebooted it. Now it only shows me this screen that details my Ram and processor and usb devices connected aswell as ata/atapi devices that are connected and at the bottom it says i must press del key to enter setup menu or f11 to enter boot menu, neither one of them open/work the pc just stays stuck on that screen. Any help will be much appreciated!

Also, can you pass on a link to the site from which you sourced your BIOS update? If you're confident that the BIOS file is indeed correct, then perhaps try and remove the CMOS battery(while the system is powered down and turned off from the main wall) and replace the battery after 15 mins.

Perhaps USB Legacy Mode has been reset / disabled after flashing the new BIOS, which means you can't use a USB keyboard until settings are changed in BIOS. This would explain why nothing happens when you press F11 or Del.

Also, sometimes, on older motherboards, only the USB 2.0 ports are supported in BIOS, so this is worth considering if you are currently using a USB 3.0 port.

These things usually aren't relevant on more recent motherboards, but if you motherboard is an older model, this could very well be the case. However, since you didn't provide any details about your computer, this is just speculation

You could try to make sure you are using a using a USB 2.0 port for the keyboard, or try using a PS/2 keyboard or a PS/2 -> USB adaptor for your keyboard and see if that works. PS/2 will be compatible if your motherboard has such a connector, when USB Legacy Mode is disabled.
It's a cheap and easy thing to test, then you can at least cross that off the list if it isn't the problem. The adaptor is always useful to have anyways.

But it would be a good idea if you could provide complete specifications of your computer as men tioned in the post above

So first off my keyboard and mouse are plugged into a usb 2.0 port.
If i press del key quick enough it tells me "entering setup" but it just stays like that for hours till i eventually just reboot the pc.
Im running an
AMD fx6300 six core 3.5ghz - CPU
2GB gigabyte GPU not sure on the model atm
2x 4GB DDR3 RAM 1333mhz corsair vengeance
Mobo is an msi 970A-G43
2TB internal wd HDD
500w bronze thermaltake PSU

Hope this helps

I have removed the cmos battery already only for about a minute or so. But i made sure that there was no electrical current in the pc by unplugging it and holding the power button in for a moment. That didnt seem to work but im taking it out now again and will put it back in the morning and see what happens.
Its probably worth a mention that i have had continuous issues with my pc i believe it might be the ram or the dimm slots. But windows 10 shows 8gb available but only 4gb usable. Which is <Mod Edit> to say the least and i am at wits end and about to set the system a light! Lol please help...

Okay so i wake up this morning put the cmos battery back into the pc and connect power, hdmi and keyboard. Turn on and it gives me 2 new options f1 to open bios and f2 to continue. So i press f1 and it worked bios opens i move my hdd to the top of priority list and boom. Windows boots. Pc seems to be working. However, i still have that issue with my RAM. Any advice on what to do there?

FX-6300 uses 1866MHz with one DIMM per channel or 1600MHz with two DIMMs per channel. 1333MHz memory is slow for that CPU.

What 2x 4GB DDR3 RAM 1333mhz corsair vengeance you have, I don't know without a Part Number or link to it.
4GB Single Module DDR3 Memory Kit - Corsair
Is it two of the above or a kit of two?
If i enable xmp in the bios on the oc of this RAM then it automatically sets the RAM to 1600mhz

However it still doesnt resolve my issue. And i have also seen now that on task manager under performance it says i have 4.1GB as hardware reserved. I have googled fixes for this and tried a bunch of them and still no change. I imagine this is why i am not able to use the full 8GB of RAM..

Unless your 2 sticks of RAM came from the same, factory matched package (package states on the label 2x4GB) there are no guarantees that they will work together.
