I've had my pc for about 8 months now. I am having issues with the "sleep mode."
once done for the night I will select said "sleep mode" and every thing will turn off except the pc itself keyboard, mouse, monitor ect.)
I am running a sea gate 2tb hdd w/ 64 mb caching as my main storage for applications and boot drive (also have windows installed). i also have two samsung 840 EVO's, both 250gb, one for my gaming library (which at the moment doesn't have very many games on) and the other I hope to make my boot drive.
Maybe you should clarify your problem for people to understand you. Do you mean your pc doesn't actually enter sleep mode?
any word of advice?
If it's hibernation mode you're actually speaking of, it could be that it has something to do with hiberfile.sys(google it) which is used to store your current 'session'.(or how do you say that) Problems could be caused by several things.
A potential cause I could think of is your hdd turning of when you don't use the pc for a given time.
1.To solve this try this: Go to Control Panel > Power Options > and change 'Turn off Hard Disks' to "Never".
Do this for all power plans to be sure whether this is the problem or not.
2. In
this post someone seems to have the same problem, maybe you can find an answer there. (they suggest among other things, checking if your drive operates in AHCI mode)
3. Try googling 'sleep mode turns off pc', you get a lot of hits with a lot of possible solutions.
I hope you can solve the problem with this information. If so, please select this as solution, or explain how you solved it.
EDIT: Oh, and check if pressing the power button(if you put it to sleep this way) actually puts your pc in sleep mode, and not in hibernation. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > and change 'Choose what the Power Buttons do' to sleep mode at the power button. You can experiment with selecting hibernate and sleep mode to check if one of them does work properly.
