Hello,

I am not very computer literate, so please list any solutions as if you were speaking to a complete moron. :)

My OS is Windows Vista. This is a Windows Explorer problem, not an Internet Explorer problem. This is happening even when I am not online with no internet connection.

When I try and access my files from Windows Explorer and I try and move a folder, rename a folder, or move pictures from one folder to another, my computer freezes and it becomes unresponsive. After a few minutes I get the following error message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error
Program:C:\Windows\Explorer.EXE

Then, the program closes and I have to restart whatever program I was using.

I have not downloaded any new software.

Please help, as I make my living with photos and I can't work now with this problem.

Thanks so much to anyone who responds!

You might resolve the problem with a Windows restore, back to a recent date, before the problem occuring.
