Please help with formating!!!

Hi all,
i am trying to format an old pc from 2005 but i get bootgr is missing error and the keyboard doesnt responde.I changed hdd and i am getting the same error.Also tried with windows 7 still the same with both the old and the new hdd.Any solution???I really need to know whats wrong with it please help me! :/

in bios select to boot from cd with dban iso on it.

How did you install windows 7 on it?

Bootmgr is missing means there is no MBR or GPT boot sector on the dirve. This means you have likely succesfully formated the drive.

YOu have to boot with the windows installation (CD or USB drive) and then install windows to the drive now.

on my 1st try with win 7 i managed to get into installation but the pc crashed and from then i get the bootgr missing with both 7 and xp.

Ok so it boots into an installation but crashed during install means you have hardware problems assuming your using legit copy of windows.

yeah but it booted only once i have tried 3 more times with 7 and 1 with xp and its the same......what is it causing the issue?

i changed the hdd with a newer....and i have tested it works in my pc...hmm its a pentium D with 2gigs of ram i dont remember the mobo

It doesn't matter what it use to run but with a such low spec computer id just throw it out if its having hardware problems.

then its the hardware cause the error right? if yes i will build a new one i wanted it for net browsing 😛
