Please help with my new computer build

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming, internet, movies

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: video card. I am going to use the radeon 5770 that is in my current computer. Peripherals (mouse, keyboard, speakers etc), windows(i have msdn)

PARTS PREFERENCES: I am open to suggestions

OVERCLOCKING: No

SLI OR CROSSFIRE: unlikely in the short-medium future

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: an affordable computer that can play new games that doenst make too much noise. Also a case that doesn't blink bright lights constantly, its hard to sleep with that haha

So ya that's what I've figured out so far. If anyone know of better deals (ncix is having a sale right now that's why I'm linking from their site) or a better build please let me know. I'm a newbie at this so any advice is greatly appreciated!

If you're not overclocking or crossfiring.... then you can save alot on the motherboard

check out hte Asus M4A87TD EVO AM3 AMD 870 -it's alot cheaper, has all the features and the newest chipset. Only thing it doenst have is crossfire ability

ya i agree that the motherboard can do with a downgrade. Most people I've talked to are recommending that board though, that's why I'm using it as a kind of benchmark

My question is does the downgraded mobo take anything away besides sli support? And will 1333 ram lower performance significantly?

This works great the monitor i would use for it is up to you but i sugest somehting in the range of 21 1/2- 25 inches =) gl!! this is about 900 or so dollars.

The case you use is also important because a bad case could reck up your computer invest 20-30 more dollars into a better case (i would keep it a mid tower)
