You need to be more concerned about PSU quality than the 80 plus rating.

There's not much correlation between quality/reliability and the rating. Platinum and Titanium usually buy you a little better efficiency, which may take a long time to make financial sense.

Nothing inherently wrong with 80 plus gold, but some are better than others.

That video card can use about 175 watts I think? The CPU near 100.

I'd say 650 to 750 watt PSU would be fine.

I haven't kept up lately with PSUs but Seasonic is generally a good brand. Also Corsair RM series. Some Superflowers are good. A few others. Don't know about that Thermaltake.

What can you find at your sources for 100 from those brands, 650 to 750 watts?

But quality aside, is it safe to go any lower than gold? Like here's one from bestbuy 750w, but it's bronze https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsai...tx-power-supply-black/6459241.p?skuId=6459241

Look at something like Corsair RMx series. That system would be more than fine on a 600W supply, really even 500, but would leave at least some room for a graphics card update. I honestly think you can find an RM750x cheapest right now, and would even feel safe doing the RMe for this current use.

Corsair CX is not highly regarded, but it may be higher in the pecking order than it was 10 years ago. I can't recall the details, but I think it has changed over time?

I know I sound a bit "shill-ish" saying it (Corsair doesn't pay me or give me discounts), but I have never had a single Corsair power supply fail on me. Those green label CX430 were a staple of mine for many years. I still take care of a system outfitted with one of those, a Ryzen 3 1200, and an EVGA GTX 960 SSC that I sold to a buddy. Works like a charm for his use case.

All of my personal use systems here at home are on RM or SF models these days.

Ok, so I guess I'll get this then if you're saying its very solid and a good deal https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsai...tx-power-supply-white/6577061.p?skuId=6577061
