6800gs is a very good card for the money. Also consider the X800GTO2 that can be unlocked to x850xt speeds.
Or the x850xt that should perform on par if not better than the 6800gs.
You can't go wrong with neither of these. 6600GT is with no doubts a good card BUT it is a bit outdated now and is slowly getting into the very budget market.

thoes cards are all but worthless.... it will not play anymore then the games he has now really.

tell your company to save the brownie points for a later time.

I am still bothered by this. I understand that my CPU is only a 1.8ghz... but really, how the hell wont a NEWER better Graphics card increase my performance in games...

I mostly play CS SOURCE and WoW.... Id like to play FEAR too...

Don't be bothered by it. It's simply not true.

Ok I am near ready to make a purchase.

I've decided between these:

The X800 GTO

X850 Pro

and 6800 GS

Or 6800 GS

Now, since I have a pretty crappy machine, these are all going to make a similar difference on my machine!

So - does anyone have any ideas on anything that comes with a BUNDLE??? I mean, if I could get a game or something with it, all the better!

Also, any pros or cons on any of these?

Ok

So I still dont know what to get... lol

Ive determined I better spend at least 30 - 40 on a power supply, so looks like I should have around $200.00 to spend on a card...

So, again, let the debate begin... what should I get? IM still so lost!

It should, the difference is usually, the packaging and the extras. (IE, games and included software.) It should come with the connectors you need, and you should download the latest drivers anyway, so the disk doesn't really matter.

I guess if I can get a better card I don't really care about games and whatnot, as long as the card works...

I wonder then, if there is a cooling solution I could use to help cool the card down, and the rest of the computer... aren't their these little PCI cards that are like nothing but fans to help cool it down?

Any other cheap cooling solution?
