So i have a gigabye x570, 3800x. 16gb g.skill memory a evga g2 750w psu and a 1080ti.

All custom watercooled.

Ive had this 1080ti for 5 years now... i game on 1440p, i really wanted a 7900xt.. but 900$ is bleh..and 1000$ for a xtx is more blehhh... Recently my 27 inch viotek curved monitor has been getting lines on it.. Its a big issie with samsung va panels from 2017+ and viotek basically said FU to everyone and samsung wont help.

So i was forced to buy a Dell 27 inch 1440p monitor for 250$. Thankfully it was on sale 239$ before tax from 300$ on dells ebay page.

Anyway that screwed me on a 7900xt. ive been out of the loop on video cards.. but the last 4 days ive been looking at cards non stop and prices. Seems amazon, newegg, micro center was 780-800+ for a 6950xt.. the 3080s are 1000$+ everywhere.. and the 6900xt is like 750-800$ as well.

Used they seem to be 700+ on ebay too. But i just got a 6900xt with a heatkiller waterblock for 600$ overnight shipping.. guy on ebay gave me the offer and i impulse snatched it before anyone else took it..

Did i do good ?? I think i did 600$ for a nornal 6900xt seems low.. and that 120$ waterblock on top of it..

Seems 1080ti sell for 200$ on ebay.. so i can sell this i guess and use that towards a 5800x 3d cpu

Looked good, guy has 100% rep and it was inside a typical gaming rig on his pics. So no mining or anything. Hopefully it works good.

I hate buying used.. in 26 years building pcs this is the first time for me.. lol

If you are going to buy used eBay is the way to go. Just be sure to always read descriptions carefully. If they list it as working, even if they don’t offer a return policy you could open a case saying item not as described. The last few cpus and gpus I’ve bought that way. Once you get it set, I’d suggest running it hard a week or so before the eBay money back guarantee expires. So far I’ve not had any issues. I’m actually looking at a 6800xt or 6900xt using the same method unless I decide to be crazy and spend the extra for a 3090. But if I did that my local microcenter had a 6950xt for 700+ new, at which point I might as well just get a 600 dollar 6900xt.

Anyway, case in point more than likely it will be fine. Just get it installed asap and run it hard to make sure all is well.

Ya guy had a pic of it in his computer saying it ran great no issues. Ill do some stress testing on it like you said.

Thanks. Yea microcenter has 3 6950s here in virginia.. one open box . But theure all above 780$ even the open box

Yeah I get it. I’ve got a 6700xt now but wouldn’t mind a faster gpu. I know at Christmas I usually get money then and for my birthday which is the 30th, so my thoughts are to sell the 6700xt while it still has good value and get a higher end 6000 series or something like a 3090 since these are on the budget end compared to the newest stuff but still very fast and that should hold a couple years at 1440p until things shake out. If needed I can always sell and buy another used card at that time.
