Question Plex 4k Buffering Issue

Hi All,

I am currently running Plex on my Mac and streaming wirelessly to my LG Smart TV. It is fantastic! However I now have some 4K movies, they play but keep stopping and buffering. Could I please have some tips and tricks to get around this but keep the 4K quality. I still want to use Plex and not plug a hard drive or USB straight into the TV as I want to keep Plex software with the cover art, movie and tv descriptions, etc and also believe .srt subtitles don't work if going straight to the TV.

Hi All,

I have a LG Smart TV. I currently stream media from my Mac using Plex. But have buffering issues with 4k. Is there any way on my LG TV to save cover art or something like Plex if I plug my external hard drive straight into my TV?

Your LG may be able to play the videos directly if they are on the external drive.

How is your Mac transferring the stream to the TV?
example: Mac wired 100mbs to router to Tv connected to same router via wifi

I don’t know how to check the speed. But they are both wirelessly connected to the same router 5Gh
