PLS vs. IPS?

As of right now I have one single ips panel monitor but I want a triple monitor setup. I've heard many different opinions on what pls is compared to ips but never really found a straight answer.

I'm looking to get two more monitors but I'm not sure what panel to get. I've ruled out TN because of color quality. I own a single gtx 760 and plan to upgrade to a 970 in the future.

At the time I'm looking for the best quality monitor that is 23" and either ips or pls. I'm just not sure of the difference.

The major feature of PLS is wide viewing angles which is not important in gaming as you will sit in front of your computer. Go for IPS because it offers better color qualty than the others.

i heard that IPS still better than PLS but PLS is a bit cheaper than IPS and the quality is not far of that IPS. but i never see both PLS and IPS side by side. but personally i don't mind using TN based monitor either.

It really depends on the exact monitor. In many ways pls and ips are similar and the same difference of ips vs ips happens with pls vs ips.

Yes it is real, if you compare a clumsy IPS monitor to a top-end PLS you can be sure the PLS wins.
