Plugged in another hard drive, now my pc won't start

So, this is a self built pc, I made it only a couple weeks ago, all the parts are new, except that I tied putting a laptop hard drive into my system build, I wanted my data back. I connected everything, no loose ends, then layed on my bed for about an hour or so, only then after I covered up my pc and plugged everything in and tried turning it on, that's when everything went horribly wrong. Any clues how I can revive my pc?

take the drive back out, and see if it starts.

If the system will show the boot screen, go into the BIOS and set your main drive as first boot device, it's possible the system is trying to boot off the laptop HDD.
Also, how did you format the drives? AHCI drives won't play nice with drives formatted another way.

I took the hdd out, but still didn't turn on, I waited a bit then tried again and magically it worked, yay?
