[SOLVED] Pluggin in new empty SATA SSD to a computer that uses M.2 NVME SSD and my PC is no longer able to boot

My computer that is relatively new has been working fine.

Specs are
980 SSD 1TB (MZ-V8V1T0B/AM) M.2 NVMe Interface PCIe 3.0 x4 internal SSD with V-NAND 3 bit MLC
ASROCK B550 Steel Legend AMD AM4 ATX Motherboard
Ripjaws V 32GB DDR4-3200
GTX 3070 Ti
C750 Watt 80 plus
Ryzen 5 5600x

I bought a Samsung 870 EVO 500GB SSD and installed it in my system. The drive is empty and has had no formatting on it. Now my computer boosts and says "Reboot and insert a proper boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot Device and press a key". Prior to adding the 500GB SSD it was working fine.

The interesting thing to note is there was a 128GB SSD installed before and cause no trouble for my computer. The cables to this drive was swapped to my new 500GB and the 128GB SSD was removed from my system. That 128GB SSD also had no data at all. I just had it plugged in as a placeholder in case I end up using the drive one day.

At first (during the 128GB SSD time as well), the SATA port being used was #6 but after reading that NVMe M.2 SSD will disable ports 5 and 6, I decided to swap it to port 2 and the same problem persists.

How should I go about dealing with this? Does my 500GB drive have to be formatted?

CSM is Enabled. Launch PXE OpRom policy is Legacy Only. Launch Storage OpRom Policy is also set to Legacy only. My boot device priority is set for my NVM.e SSD. Either way, the "reboot and insert proper boot device" message occurs when trying to boot from the 500gb or the existing NVM.E.

Remove the 500 and connect the 128.
Does it now boot?

Your actual boot partition was on the 128GB I believe.
When it boots, you can bring up Disk Management and check there. If you aren't sure, link us to an image of it you hosted elsewhere.

After doing some more reading late last night I stumbled upon the same conclusion. I put the 128GB drive back in and noticed that the System Reserved is on the 128GB. I googled how to move this over to my 1tb NVMe but it doesn't seem simple and quite dangerous. I am trying to avoid reinstalling Windows 10.

I assigned the System Reserved on Disk 0 a drive letter and it's contents are empty inside, even though it says 19.6 MB free of 49.6 MB.
