So I plan on getting a motherboard that has 1 cpu fan header and 3 case fan headers however my cooler will have 2 fans and the rest will be connected to the controller. Do I need to get a Y splitter cable in order to use both heatsink fans?

Solution
Yes, if you want to use both of them at same speed, or you can connect one of them into the fan controller, but they will run at the different speed.

I missed that it came with one whenever I looked through the specs. I assume it's a pretty good heatsink and hoping that I can put the side fans on my corsair c70. That's pretty much the main reason why I considered liquid cooling but decided I would prefer to do a custom loop much later.
