Plugging my failed HDD

Hi everyone.while ago l replaced my old 500GB Seagate hard drive with a WD 1TB Blue, Because I had boot disk failure with it.I wanted to know if it's going to make another problem if I plug that failed HDD to my PC via a sata cable? I want to get the data from It. I know about those SATA to USB cables already.
