PNY NVidia GTX 660 Ti (2GB) Overclocking results

Hi,

I've been considering overclocking my GPU for a while now, but I've found a lack of articles online of people's experiences with overclocking the GTX 660 Ti, therefore I'd like to share my experiences. Hopefully this will be of use to any other owners of this graphics card who are considering overclocking their GPU.

My graphics card is the 2GB PNY GTX 660 Ti graphics card. I'm overclocking using MSi Afterburner and performed stress tests using Furmark .

Of course, everyone will have get different results for overclocking their GPU depending on their setup, but it's nice to be able to look at some solid numbers for overclocking anyway.

My computer is basically a Dell XPS 8100 purchased in 2010 that has been upgraded along the way:
* Intel Core i7 860 2.8ghz (1st generation i7)
* 8GB RAM (RAM, 1333mhz)
* SSD: Samsung 840 250GB
* HDD: 2x1TB Seagate drives
* 450 watt Antec power supply

My computer case is the stock Dell XPS 8100 one. I imagine the airflow for the GPU isn't great as the fan which takes in air gets air from the vent at the back of the case, sitting just below where the GPU pumps back out the hot air.

The standard clock speeds are as follows:
* 1 volt
* GPU clock: 915mhz (boost: 1112mhz)
* Memory clock: 1502mhz

So basically, all I've done is increased the clock speeds using Msi Afterburner, then performed a 'Burn-in benchmark 1920x1080 15min' test to see if the graphic card remains stable under stress.

So without further ado, here are the offset numbers I've used for overclocking my GPU using MSi Afterburner, coupled with the Furmark results:

For all of the above tests, the fan speed was set to auto. During the tests, the temperatures peaked at a constant 79 degrees Celsius.

As you can see from the tests, I was able to increase my memory clock speeds a lot more than the CPU core clock, which is line with what I've read elsewhere.

I increased my core clock speed from 915mhz to 1047mhz (+132). I'm a little confused about the memory clock speeds. I increased it by 335mhz, but it shows up in the TechPowerUp GPU-Z tool as increased by exactly half of 335mhz (168mhz) - increased to 1670mhz.

Anyway, as you can see it completed that test and remained stable throughout.

However, on running Just Cause 2 benchmarks I found the game crashing to desktop each time. I kept re-running it, lowering the clock speeds each time, but it kept crashing. Restarted my computer and have been working my way back up the clock speeds without any issues this time. Not really sure what went wrong.
