Pod Racer - what button is "repair"?

Bought a copy at a garage sale w/ no manual. Did plenty of Google
searches that talk about a "Repair button", but can't figure it out.
Please help.

Description of all controls would help, although most are obvious:

- analog stick = steering
- analog stick up = prep for turbo boost
- analog stick down = thrusters down (to cushion landings)
- D-pad = change views of racer
- A = acceleration/turbo boost
- B = turn ship vertically clockwise
- X = brakes
- Y = turn ship vertically counter-clockwise
- Right trigger?
- Left trigger?
- Start = start/pause game
