Help please. I have Windows 7 and I haven't received any updates for about 2 months. When I investigated I found a long list of failed updates. I have been trying to clear the problem. Following the Microsoft help page it said to make sure that Port 443 was open. I carried out the test and it appears it is blocked. I have absolutely no idea how to clear it.
Any ideas please.
Thanks

No I can't. I have just purchased a Registery Repair package but I can't even download that. I'm thinking of doing a restore back too January when the last updates were successful.
The last error code I had was 80072EE2.

1.Enable the View Hidden Files option. To do this, follow these steps:

a.Click Start , click Control Panel , click Folder Options , and then click the View tab.

b.Click Show hidden files and folders , and then click OK .

2.As a system administrator, locate the Programdata\Microsoft\Network\Downloader folder, and then delete all files that have a file name that begins with Qmgr. To do this, follow these steps:
a.Click Start , type \Programdata\Microsoft\network\downloader in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
b.In the Downloader window, select and then delete any files that begin with Qmgr. For example, delete the following files:

*.Qmgr0.dat

*.Qmgr1.dat

Notes
*.If the files are not deleted, restart the computer in safe mode without networking. To do this, use Method 2 or Method 3.

Hi
I did as you suggested and managed to delete 5 Qmgr's. 2 were left that would not delete. I went into safe mode and was able to delete them but on returning to normal mode they were back again.
The message I get when trying to delete is "The action can't be completed because the file is open in Background Intelligent Transfer Service"
When I try opening the file it tried with a Nero program which I have recently deleted. I tried opening it with Windows Media but that didn't work either.
A couple of updates have come through, iTunes and one other. They updated okay but the windows updates still doesn't, nor does the program I bought yesterday to repair the registery. I still get the Google Chrome message of Whoops link is broken, or words to that effect.
Any ideas.
Thanks for your efforts.

*.If the files are deleted successfully, immediately open Windows Update, and then install the latest updates.
