Port Forwarding behind a router + a router/modem?

Hello there, I have a question about port forwarding!

So for the longest time I've tried to portforward, but every time its failed. Just recently I learned of the possibility of being behind 2 routers stopping my succes. Of course, I began to check. I knew I only had 1 router in my house, but I downloaded a tool to find out if I was behind Multiple.

When I got the result I was suprised.

It said I was behind 2 routers, and also gave me their IP's. The first one I knew about. (192.168.1.1) Its a Netgear R6200 and I had fiddled with multiple times, but the second one (192.168.0.1) I had never visited.

I booted up my browser, put in the IP and after passwords got to this mysterious "second router". I was greeted with what seemed like a severly outdated version of my first routers UI (Second UI). It claimed to be a router manager, but underneath said it was ADSL2+ Modem!

My question is, how can I fix this to allow me to port forward?

Yes, I know where they are and I can access both of them. Well, by saying that I guess I mean I can access both this router and modem, unless I am mistaken.

Your modem (Netgear DM111PSPv2) actually has an integrated router as well. You should put this device in bridge mode to disable the router functions, and allow the R6200 to act as your sole router.

Edit: This will allow you to properly configure and manage port forwarding on the R6200.

Hey there, thanks for replying. A couple days ago I saw this option and actually tried it, but after the change my modem could no longer connect to the internet and I had to reset it. Was I just impatient, does it take time to reconnect after this chnage?

Did you reboot all devices (router, PCs, etc) after configuring the modem in bridge mode?
