Main Goal : To get specific Port(6672) OPEN, so that Checker Shows green flag for port 6672 from my desktop browser
Network Info :
Network Type : PPPoE (Requires Pass and ID)
Shared : Yes,Connection is shared and not dedicated
Network Cable : D-link LAN Cable
Modem Info :
Unknown,My ISP probably has it setup for shared connection at their office.
Router Info :
Model : D-Link DIR-816
Connectivity Types : Dual Band AC750 2.4GHz & 5 GHz
Desktop Connectivity : Wired connection through LAN 1 port(there are 4 LAN ports on this router)
Wireless Connectivity : Only my Android is sometimes connected to the 2.4GHz band Wifi
Desktop Info :
Motherboard : MSI Gaming Intel Skylake B150 LGA 1151 DDR4 USB 3.1 ATX Motherboard
Ethernet Ports : Intel Ethernet Port 1
OS : Windows 10 Build 1607
My Connection Setup ATM :
What I had BEFORE getting the router :
My ISP brought me the D-link LAN Cable,I plugged it into desktop ethernet port, i set up a new connection as PPPoE from windows setup wizard, I put in the pass and ID provided by my ISP, Connection established, all download browsing works. all ports other than port 80 showed closed,
Connection Setup as of NOW with router :
I set up the router Exactly as described here : DIR-816 Quick Setup
I Picked PPPoE as internet setting in the router config page (192.168.0.1) , Provided that same pass and ID as ISP provided,Router was configured, i set up a new wifi connection, My phone connected and was working ok,PC was automatically connected to internet as router now handles the PPPoE pass and ID so both wired and wireless internet connection is working
However in the checker SAME result as before, all ports other than port 80 is closed
What I did to port forward with my current setup :
i set up a port forward rule using this page : link
Note that my router's setup page does not have a port forwarding page, Rather it has virtual server page.
So i set up to open port UDP 6672 on that virtual page, I put the IP adress as my Desktops local ip which is 192.168.0.2
after i saved the settings i went to the Checker checked port 6672, same result port is still closed
P.S. Whenever i was checking my ports, My public ip remianed the same no matter what(I understand thats the IP my ISP assigned me?)
ANYWAYS,After read through That wall of text you can clearly understand THAT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM DOING TO GET Port forwarding working
I am acting like an idiot 🙁 so if anyone can please enlighten me on how i am suppose to do this setup I WILL BE EVER GREATEFUL ;-; .
I tried providing as much info as i could but if you need any other info please ask me
