So I have cricket wireless hotspot. Trying to play an old game. There are two ways to play. Through the game (which requires port forwarding now days) and through 3rd party simple app called GameRanger (which requires no ports) Logically if I can play through game ranger, there must be some way to also play through the game itself without having to buy anything from cricket etc. I cant find an easy free way to bypass this port issue from android to allow the in game function, which currently gives me networking error. Any ideas?

Solution
It quite unlikely your hotspot gets pubulic IP address, so even if your hotspot supports port forwarding, it would be of no use.

Connect to config page of your hostspot, and check what WAN address you're getting.
