Looking for print capability from email attachments using Pi4 to smallish, single sheet, printer for travel purposes. Any leads for such a one off page printer? Need as back up for emergency printing when I cant get to a stand alone PC or a laptop with toner printer. Thank you.

Solution
Text? Graphics? Battery or mains power?
Closest for "portability" come receipt printers (matrix or thermal), although you can get "standard" Letter/A4 portable ink jet as well. Your main concert (for non-text-only) will be drivers - that is, printer supported by native Linux drivers which could be ported to Arm.

Primarily if not exclusively text -to print docs from emails or from a flash drive. I want to avoid ink based-rugged would be useful to just print off a readable document-your're right that the driver must work in the Linux OS-
Thank you.

With letter size, and "portability", your only option is some ink-jet printer. Boot your RPi, go to Settings, add a printer, and see what printers (or at least, printer families) are there, in order to narrow your search. Then, you can only hope that the drivers are "compatible".
