Question Portable Monitor Issues

I'm having issues with an ASUS MB16AC ZenScreen portable monitor and my Lenovo P71 ThinkPad laptop. The monitor connects via a USB-C cable and worked fine for about a year. Then I plugged it into a system I'm building with an ASUS Prime Z270-A motherboard - and it worked fine there. But when I connected it back to the ThinkPad, it says "DisplayPort No Signal". It still works fine in the Z270-A system. Could just be a coincidence, but I have a feeling some configuration in the ZenScreen changed when I plugged it into the new system. However, I can't find anything that would be causing this.

Any ideas or troubleshooting tips?

I tried a USB-A to USB-C cable, which works fine... so it must be an issue with the USB-C on my laptop. But I'm not seeing anything wrong.
