So if I bought the PS3 version, could I play my girlfriend if she wanted to play the PC version at my house at the same time?

[citation][nom]erick81[/nom]I'll hold off till they give it away on steam.[/citation]

I was too, but realistically the inevitable deal that will come on steam at best will save you $5 more than this...so for me it's good enough...I just didn't expect a deal to come this soon!

If you buy the PS3 version just to get the PC version, know that you have to activate it on a PS3 first. Many people have picked up the PS3 version because it was on sale, intending to only play it on PC and sell the PS3 disc or something, and that does not work. You have to link your PSN to a Steam ID to get the PC version. Don't buy the PS3 version unless you actually have a PS3.

Just called Gamestop, apparently the $40 deal only applies via online.

[citation][nom]andboomer[/nom]Although I have never played Portal or Portal 2, I just wanted to throw a quick Nelson-esque "HA HA!" out to all those suckers that paid full retail on this game.[/citation]

I would rather pay 44.99 to preorder on steam and have it the minute it becomes available, played it all the way through twice already, and almost got all the achievements, than have to wait two weeks just to save a few bucks.

[citation][nom]mikem_90[/nom]The solo game was okay. Though I tend to see this as it not being as groundbreaking as the first and thus not being able to command as nice a price as they thought. There was a LOT of hype with this game, and it was a bit shorter than I would have preferred.[/citation]

Two words: free DLC

I'll just wait till Christmas and buy Portal 2 with 10 games for $19.99 just like they did with every other game that came from value.

Do I feel the need to give them $49.99?

NO!

K-mart deal was bogus, at least in my store. Not only didn't they have any Portal 2 games left, they never had any stock to begin with.
