If you don't want the SSD, the build I posted without the OS will be within your budget and indeed a good setup.

 


im thinking of throwing in a pentium g3258 rather than the i5 think it can hold pace with the gpu and ram?

 
Some of the newer more demanding AAA titles won't even run on the dual core Pentium, and if they do you could experience stuttering/low FPS. I would go with at least an i3, an i5 is ideal. You might want to look into used parts to fit in an i5 build, otherwise you'll end up spending more money later on like Gamer01 said.
