So, I have a 1080p Laptop with a 15.5 " screen, (oled screen), hooked up to a 4k, 65" TV as a second monitor.
Under the settings, I have the laptop set to a 1080p resolution at 125% scaling, and I have the TV set at 4k (2160p) at 125%.
My problem is when I'm reading text on Word (for example), the text will be very nicely sharp and readable on the Laptop, but not on the TV. In fact, any zoom lower than 50% is not legible at all.
What's strange to me is that it's only the text ON the page, not necessarily other text around the screen, like the menu text. I write a lot of research papers, and sometimes it's clearer to read/write them on the laptop screen than the TV.
I've tried messing with some settings, the scaling, the actual sharpness of the TV, and nothing that I do compares to the crispness of the text on the laptop.
I've actually measure, for examples: Opening a Word document on the laptop, the page can be zoomed out to 40% (within Word's zoom feature) and the page will measure 9.5cm (or about 3.7") and it'll be very readable/legilble. Anything closer, it's not longer clear enough.
By contrast, I can open the same paper on the TV Display, and at 40%, measuring about 19.75 cm (or about 7.8") the text is not legible at all. I have to zoom in to 50% to make it readable. Sometimes, even 60%.
Specifically - some parts of the text, like some straight lines, (like on "L's" ) or squiggly lines close together (like on "G's", lowercase, on Aptos font) will look greyed out, discolored, and not sharp, like out of focus.
Any ideas on what I can do? What is the cause of this?
Thanks in advance,
Ron
