Hi all. this is a doozy so strap yourselves in.
I use a HDMI switcher thing and was playing my ps4 and when i switched back to my pc the screen was black. So i restarted and it booted to the windows logo then to a black screen. so i never saw my desktop. I switched in my backup card and it worked fine. I can't remember what i did after this but something was going wrong because i reset my pc. anyway, when i went to install the graphics drivers my card wasn't being detected. I switched back to the good card and the same thing was happening. i reseated it and eventually got the drivers to install. i've been fine for a few hours but then it went back to a black screen. I restarted it and went straight on here to make a post. I suspect I have a faulty PCI-E x16 slot. Even when i'm typing this these black triangles and squares are popping up. they're quite big not the small ones. Screen flashed black for a second then to.
