Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem with a brand new PC. It's a pre-built PC, I installed a clean version of windows 10, all necessary drivers etc. The main issue is that after 20-30 minutes of playing games the screen freezes, all sound stops and keyboard turns off.
And what I found out after the most recent freeze is that the PC doesn't shut down, everything inside is working except the GPU, while all the other fans are spinning the GPU ones just stop.
Temperatures are alright, nothing goes over 65°C.

These are the specs:
  • Motherboard: GIGABYTE B560M DS3H V3 (rev. 1.0)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-11400F do 4.40 GHz
  • RAM:KINGSTON Beast 2x16GB DDR4 3200 MHz
  • SSD/HDD: KINGSTON NV2 1TB SSD
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700
  • PSU: ARGUS APS-720W
Hope this helps, if there is anything I missed let me know!

Thank you!

Any game? Any game at all and it freezes after 20-30 minutes?
Does it freeze if you're just browsing or playing a movie?

It could be a memory problem.

What happens after it freezes? Does it recover or do you have to reset or switch off?
You could open the task manager before starting a game that leads to problems, and check to see if memory fills up to 100% or some process takes up too much CPU, or anything unusual going on.

Tested it on 3 games, 1 singleplayer (Total War Warhammer 3) and 2 multiplayer (PUBG and World of Warcraft) with different graphic settings on all of them, happens the same.

Regarding the timing, it does usually freezes around those 20 to 30 minutes.
It froze only once or twice when alt tabbing from game to browser (chrome).

No, there is no recovery. When it freezes it stays like that for about a minute and the PC resets.

It might be a good start to run the Reliability monitor(reli into Search) and read what it says under view technical details. Usualy you get an error code which helps you find a fix.

If its a prebuilt, the first thing to check is the PSU.
They often come with crappy ones and yours is no exception.

Just looked your PSU up (ARGUS APS-720W), and its is dirt cheap.
No wonder its for sale for just ~45$!?!
A normal 700W one will cost more than twice of that!

Highly suggest Swapping you PSU to smth form a reputable brand.
A PSU is not smth you should cheap out on, its what your other components rely on.
It probably will also fix your Issues.

Cheers :)
