Okay guys, I am pretty sure I have come to an extremely solid build. Heres what I want to do:

Case: SilverStone FT01-BW $229.95

That is a grand total of $1440.86 w/out shipping included. There are also $40 in M.I.R. but who knows if I will actually get that money back.

Looks pretty sick to me. Any final suggestions are welcome, otherwise I am pulling the trigger on this new build next week!

Thanks I will definitely have to look into that, I was really considering the Samsung NC10 the more I look at it. All the other netbooks seems kind of girly or like a toy but the Samsung has a much better look to me.

^ turns out it'll be $499 when it comes out, they demo'ed it doing 30fps on COD4, 1920x1080 with medium settings I guess so 40+ on max settings at the screens native of 1280x800 should be achievable.

Lol, sorry to cut it close, but I would suggest a different case, unless you want to pay more. I'd go with the Antec 1200. Plenty of space for SLI, bottom mounted PSU, has 5 Tri Cool Fans, and a side panel. It's 160$, so it will save you 90$. Personally the only silverstone case I would go with is the Raven.

Looks fricken awesome, and has a great design/airflow. 😀 Just my 3.5 cents.

Yea dude I was looking at the ION desktop if thats what you want to call it a few days ago. It is ridiculously small and they were showing COD4. I have some time before I even need to get a netbook so if I can find a sweet deal on the Samsung NC10 I am going to go for it otherwise I will probably wait for the ION next month!

O I C haha. I will have to look into that. Either way its not that big of a deal the i7 build is the main thing for me. The samsung nc10 is nice and I don't need too much horsepower in a netbook because I will use it more. I would rather use my main rig for everything and netbook for on the go internet browsing and college notes/papers.

Thanks for the response! Idk though I am just like in love with the SilverStone FT01B-W. The first time I saw it I was like I reallllllly wish I got that case. I am going to go with my gut and get that case. It is very stylish but yet sophisticated. And it also has a window which I wish I got in my first build. The antec 1200 is black on the inside as well but the SilverStone just looks so much more sophisticated. Sorry that is just my opinion though and I do respect your input!

Oh that's fine. I fell in love with the Antec 1200, but the case is always a personal choice- whatever looks good. Plus, you can't go wrong with a high quality Silverstone. It's a nice case, just trying to offer opinions.
Good Luck! :)

Alrite guys I hate being so lost and confused but I really have no idea what I want to do. I would love to have that i7 build and just have a monster rig that puts any program or game to shame. At the same time I feel like it is such a waste of money and that I do not even need it. My friend suggested that I not waste the money on it and just get the Nvidia ION desktop when it drops next month for around $500. It is basically a mini-desktop that is extremely nice for watching movies, shows or anything in 1080p.

So here is where I am so confused. Basically I was disappointed with the rig I built in the first place. Although it is very nice my macbook is used 90% of the time and I occasionally turned the desktop on.

With the i7 build I wanted to sell my macbook and get a cheap netbook so I would tend to want to use my desktop more. Also I do have a xbox 360 which I play most of the time.

I am a horrible impulse buyer and I can't seem to ever be satisfied with what I buy. The few purchases I really really loved are my Sennheiser HD555 headphones and the LG L227WTG monitor I use.

So basically I just wanted some advice on what you guys think I should do.
i7 build and netbook -> Probably do not need the i7 build but could put it to use.
Nvidia ION and netbook -> Much cheaper and would serve my needs great, but in the back of my head I know I would want an i7 even though I most likely don't need it.

I don't know why I do this to myself but yea so I am at a big roadblock and don't know what to do. Also with the ion desktop and netbook I would have an extra $1000 left over from selling the pc and macbook. With the i7 and netbook I would just about break even. Decisions. Decisions.

What about a nice i7 single card set up for under $1200 ? You use that 22" monitor so a nice single card set up would be perfect. I''l post a build on here in a few minutes to give you an idea. This way your $300 under your intended budget yet you still have a great rig. I call this build i7 Red. You will see why in a minute. :)

Haha sounds good. I was thinking about this some more and if I went the Nvidia ION desktop route and a netbook I could invest the other $1k in a Sony XBR6 40" 1080p tv. Hook the ION and my 360 up to that and my Onkyo surround sound setup. That is one option and I will love to see the $1200 i7 setup, it mite just be a winner.

i7 RED

This build is one of my favs. This case is new to the market, and it's "portable". Check the link out on the bottom (Cooler Master site), and read up on it after you check the newegg link on it. The mobo in this build is a bloody steal at this price, not to mention the free shipping included with it. The vid card will rock games on that 22" monitor of yours and this Gskill RAM which is fairly new also is rock solid...not to mention it looks great with those heat sinks. This build is set up to over clock also. Red LED Modular psu goes beautifully with this case (black interior is the bomb). This build also comes with an LED Xigmatek cpu h/s. :)

Wow man I am not gonna lie that is such a sickkkkkk build. I am definitely considering that now. Also good looks on the modular PSU.
Here are my options now:
This i7 and a netbook- Around 1500-1600 total.
Nvidia ION Desktop + Netbook + Sony Bravia XBR6 40" 1080p- Around $2000 -> hook up 360 to the TV via HDMI
Nvidia ION Desktop + Netbook - Around 1000

Decisions. Decisions. But again Why_ME that is a sick i7 build and I will definitely have to consider this over the next few days before I make any decisions. It is 4 AM where I am rite now so I am going to catch some ZZZZ's but thanks again for the "i7 RED"!!

OK, I fixed that RED build. Xigmatek has a h/s...same as the Darknight but it has a red LED fan. I took out the Darknight and added that HS..and the LGA1366 mounting kit for it. Ya with this build, you can take with you if you travel out, and you have plenty of money left over for that netbook.

haha this is all good stuff. the more i think about it having a 42" 1080p 120hz tv would be awesome. I am thinking about going that route so I can watch blue-rays and all my animes in 1080p goodness. The Nvidia ION desktop is looking pretty good for around $400-500 and will let me do everything I need to do. Browse the internet, dl movies, music, and all that good stuff.

Thanks for all the advice but I think I am going to go this route with the tv and ION. It will cost me $1500 for everything and I can still get a netbook later on.
Heres the tv I am thinking of getting:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0019LX84E/ref=pd_luc_mri?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

Holy beejezus that thing is BIG! But nice! Not a bad price on that either. :)

^ $400? the one's over here start at £150 which is about $225.

also for the TV you might want to wait for a HDMI 1.4 compatible TV that can use it's feature's. (100mbps network/internet connection, higher data rate and some other stuff)

Hmm do you know when those TV's are gonna come out? Also how much more would a TV with HDMI 1.4 cost?
I will look into that rite now but still just wondering...
Also I am waiting for the ION with the 330 Atom CPU rather then the 230. Hopefully those will drop next month.

Hmm I don't know. I might just stick with the model I have listed because it is 120hz and most of the features that 1.4 is going to have I do not need haha. Thanks for the suggestion though. I mean unless I find a 120hz 1.4 hdmi around 40" for at 1000 with a sick picture, I am going to stick with the LG listed.

Also I can't seem to find any info on when or where I could get a ION with 330 atom. Does anybody have any info on these for prices? Thanks!

Hmm does the UK release stuff like this before the US gets it?
