Possible places to plug a case fan in?

Hello

I just changed my computer case with a new one, that happened to come with 2 case fans.
Unfortunately, I only have 1 sys_fan header on my motherboard.

I do have a 4 pin floppy drive power connector on my psu, and I was wondering if I can use this to power my case fan, or I would need to get either a cpu fan spliiter or a molex <-> 3/4 pin converter.

You can use molex connector directly to the PSU or get a fan controller if you are thinking of getting more fans , or else a molex should do the job , you wont be able to control that fan though.

1. Using a fan hub is the simplest, cleanest, most efficient and usually cheapest way of doing this.... available in both 3 pin (DCV) and 4 pin (PWM) versions and sold at PerfomacePCs

Just make sure you don't exceed total header amps (usually 1 amp). Six (6) 0.14 fans would amount to 0.14 amps for example.

2. A Fan Splitter cable (0ne with out auxillary pwer input) performs the same function but is a bit messy, sold at newegg, amazon and just about everywhere

3. Far less elegant (messy cable wise) are power assisted cables:

SATA => 3 pin / 4 pin
Molex => 3 pin / 4 pin

The PWM versions (4 pin) require a PWM header on the MoBo. Again sold just about all OPS supply shops
