Hello,
I Will try to make it short. So my PC suddenly turned off without any warning and it wont boot up again. So I took out the power supply( it is a EVGA supernova 750), tested it and it spins for like 4 seconds and then it stops. So I assume that power supply is wrong. Weird thing is that it only lasted just 3 years and last PSU I had lasted 6 years and was still going strong. And I personally have never heard of a PSU breaking after 2-3 years. My questions are
  1. Could this sudden fail of PSU break other components?
  2. How is it possible that a PSU fails after a short time like this? Even a good one like EVGA
Thanks in advance

Solution
random failures do happen , less probability with higher quality units but still a possibility , good thing is you still have a valid warranty with that unit , you should RMA it back

Hey there,

Totally agree with @Mezoxin , even the good brands have failures, although much less likely to occur.

What are your PC specs?

In the event the warranty doesn't cover a replacement (I wouldn't accept a repair), then we could recommend something for you.
Intel i5-7600k OCed to 4.5ghz
16GB patriot viper 4 3000mhz
Sapphire R9 290X 4gb
Asus tuf z270 Mark 2
Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD
I dont think it failed because the system needed more power

Thanks, I was already checking some power supplies but Will give it a try. One more question. Could this PSU fail damage other components?
