possible to boot to command line?

Hi,

Is there any way to boot from a floppy into a DOS-like
command-line mode under NT 4.0 (Server)?

I tried booting DOS but got a "can't find NTLDR" error.

A "No" answer is fine, I just would like to know.

(Background: I have a bad install, then tried to do a
fresh install in another directory, but ran out of space
on that (C partition, and now I'd like to try to free up
some space. I'd rather not put the disk into another
system if I can avoid it...)

a dos boot floppy cannot access an NTFS partition

The short answer is no.
You can however, get a copy of NTFS4DOS to delete some
files and then install a second copy of NT.

No.

NT is*NT* DOS-based, hence its name ... ;-)

It really *is* a good idea to install NT (the barebone OS only) on a
FAT partition in case you have problems of that kind... at least, I
always fared well with that. Booting to a DOS floppy and accessing at
least a few of the directories *can* help in some instances!
