I have an old MS 694D / MS 6321 motherboard that I am having problem
booting up.

The last week the computer started restarting when it booted windows
XP. I tried to re-install windows XP Pro and after it had copied the
files it sometimes restarted automatically without warning (not the
normal restart). Sometimes it passed this and when it was restarting
and booting up to continue the install and configuriring the system it
would (always) automatically restart after the windows loading bar
reached the end.
Now a week later, having tried almost everything, like removing
everything in the computer, except cpu and memory and swapping the AGP
gfx card to another GFX card and also using a PCI gfx card, the system
wont pass the post boot and the D-LED stops at the state marking "red,
green, green, red" after having tried to POST boot three times going
through the earlier stages.

Anyone who have any ideas what could be the problem?

Your motherboard manual tells you what the DLED's mean. If you don't
have it, it is available for download at

http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/manual/mnu/spt_mnu_detail.php?UID=83&kind=1

The Red,Green,Green,Red means "processor initialization"

At this point in the POST it has already passed the memory and video
card check.

As has been mentioned elsewhere on this forum, you could try
disconnecting everything except the video card/monitor and try to
boot. If it does then add things back one at a time until it fails. If
it doesn't, it looks like the processor could be faulty.

I have seen the manual online and know what the D-LED states mean.
As it is a dual cpu board I have tried swapping cpu0 and cpu1 and only
using one of them at a time in cpu0 position. When I only use one cpu,
the D-LEDs stop at the "red, green, green, red" state directly. If I
use both cpus, the also go up to "red, green, green, green" but then
it generates a beep and starts over. This it does three times and then
stops at the same state. I have the revision 1.0 board, do I need the
termination board to use only one cpu?

PS. What is the "bendable" connector under the cpu for?

Sorry I don't have any first hand experience with this mb.
A single CPU is supposed to go in socket 1 ( the socket closest to the
i/o ports) lower left socket when looking at the mb with the the
memory slots on the top right. The socket 2 is supposed to have an
"AGTL + bus terminator resistor" located in the center of the socket
2. Is that the bendable connector you are talking about? If you don't
have the resistor you need the bus terminator card in the socket.

How does the terminator look? I really wonder what this "bendable"
thing is under the cpu. It looks like some kind of connector, as it
seems to connect the board with the underside of the cpu chip where
some resistors is located.
