Hi everyone,
I have my main monitor connected via DisplayPort and my 2nd monitor connected via HDMI to my MSI Nvidia 780Ti, when i turn on my computer the POST screen/BIOS displays on the 2nd monitor but then as soon as Windows starts it knows that i set my primary monitor to my 1st monitor and changes accordingly.
I'm lead to believe this is to do with the hard 'coded' port boot priority on the graphics card itself so it obviously prioritises HDMI over DisplayPort.
My idea was to put a DisplayPort -> DVI-D adapter from the monitor to the graphics card, as i'm lead to believe that the DVI port (not sure if this includes DVI-D) has priority over everything else. My concern was that it wouldn't carry the 1440p resolution that i am running, as lots of them list a max resolution of 1080p, but i'm also lead to believe that a DVI-D cable should carry that resolution? So i'm a little confused. Any ideas?
Thanks.
