Like I said, no context. We can only assume what was happen here and deduce what would come after.

Just let it be a lesson to everyone to never underestimate the significance of proper packaging.

My biggest blunder was when the GTX 980/970s came out. I bought an acer 4k gsync monitor and bought a gigabyte gtx 980 WF. It wasn't enough to run ultra settings, so I got a 2nd to run in SLI. It wasn't enough to run crysis 3 on ultra settings @ 60fps so I got a 3rd WF.

The thing about the WF cards is that they are pretty thick, they didn't fit well. I got the brilliant idea to remove the backplates so there was more room. Well there was, but it wasn't so great when the top card started sagging and 2 fans dug in to the back of the middle card. I didn't hear it because my headphones were on but I smelt something bad and saw smoke coming from the case.

Funny part is tri-sli never worked anyways with them. always was VRAM capped lol.

ok last night i just tryed building a pc and it was 3:30 AM and i had not slept the night before long story short i tryed to put a gpu in a RAM slot
please remember do noy do what i did and build a pc in the middle of the night

what the heck, how is that even possible

Lube, lots of it!

OT: I just remembered how my younger brother would always turn his computer off by the PSU power button on the back. The more often he did it the more often the computer would suddenly shut down on its own. I told him not to do it yet he kept right on doing it until one ragequit when a literal shower of sparks came from the bottom of it (it was a top mounted unit) and landed right on his videocard, my old 9800 GX2. After getting a new PSU I thought that it might be all right but nope, that card started smoking right away.

Nvidia, the way its ment to be played. lol

Worst decision: NVidia GeForce 5600. Worst midrage card ever. New games were unplayable or required low setrings.
Best decision: Voodoo 3 2000. It only cost $100 and it came with the best software bundle in history: Deus Ex, Unreal Tournament, Thief, MDK2. Bios flashable to Voodoo 3 3000

the correct statement is:
NVIDIA, the way its meant to be BENDED lol... 😀

btw, i feel sorry for u m8

i remember my old laptop (good old dell n4050, what a piece of joyful problems), i send it to a repair store to fix it, because the laptop keyboards goes nuts and it died moments after,
it was fixed for another year, during that period i realized that im just using the onboard graphics, when i installed amd drivers to enable the dgpu it happened, laptop dies frequently
but because i already have the courage to open stuff up and understand whats in it (im 14 at the time), i see 1 problem,
the guy REMOVED the GPU HEATSINK from my laptop and replaced it with 2 THERMAL PADS, 2!!!, 2 of those blue square bastards stacked on the GPU CORE!, to make contact with the heatpipe
no wonder it crashes when i set my laptop dgpu to max performance, now that laptop is sold to someone else and from now on i put a swear of fixing anything i can by myself unless i really cant
not to mention that repair job is expensive, well $70 + other repairs + whatever that laptop cost down the drain

Sigh. I bought one of those too. Neverwinter Nights was getting a mind boggling 30 fps. Blech.

well back in those days you didn't have a choice. I bought a gf5600, replaced it with a 9600pro and then it still sucked major balls, then i bought a gf5700, same story. none of these midrange cards can play doom3 at acceptable performance. i gave up PC gaming and decided to buy a ps2 instead. got back to the master race around the athlonx2 time.

at least at the present, mid range cards can actually "deliver" gaming performance.

yeah i made same decision...
Born as PC master race, but my PC runs new games like CRAP on 2007.
Change side as console peasants by buying PS2. Now i'm already bored with my PS2.
Back to master race at 2010 with core2quad and 9600gt to tackle latest game in medium to high settings. lol 😀

And worst graphic card mistake ever implemented is $1000++ macbook. Premium price, still Intel HD graphics 😀
