I have corsair nautilis500 and at 4.3ghz idles at 50°and gets up to
80°+after about and hour of dual prime depending on room temp also at 1.63v , but for daily use i am at 4.08ghz 47° idle and 64° load again dual prime at 1.51v,
However my highest benchies (7900gtx) came at 3.8ghz (46° idle dont have load) 3dmark06 of 6440 (here) went with nvidia beta driver and scores went down at 4.1ghz
3DMark Score 6356 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 2671 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 2667 Marks
CPU Score 2005 Marks

Edit: I did the mod on my p5wd2-e, I was at 3.8ghz and needed 1.61 volt to take into account the vdroop. I have done both pencil and hard mod on several boards and both work good. for the pencil mod I recommend a design drawing pencil set w/2b,2h,2hb as each lead has different resistance you can kind of tune in the best setup.

Here is the link for mine: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=365790
Still trying to figure out why I'm down a bit in total score. (looks like my CPU score is higher, but I ran this clocked at 4.2ghz) Stock clock on the 7900gtx.

I haven't managed to run under load yet to see how hot I get as having problems with new setup.

Asus P5WD2-E
P4 D 805
x1800Xt 512mb
2GB Supertalent 4-3-4-8 Ram.
bigwater SE.
Hiper TypeR 580W PSU

Tiny xp beast (for speed of install during testing switching to vista at the weekend.)

Boots fine (will boot up to 4.1Ghz @1.52V) but even at 2.66 I have problems with 3D..
3dmark05 will run first 3 tests ~ 30FPS then beeps continuously and drops to 2-3 FPS.
ati Overclock utility beeps continuously when testing overclock potential.
rightmark and asus monitor shows no throttling or high temps.
CPU temp at idle 44 never exceeded 61.
GPU temp around 65.
not sure where the Beep is from Motherboard or graphics but if I can work that out will post temps..

You might have the cpu volatage droop problem use something like speedfan to check cpu volatage and run 3d again check how much voltage drops. you can get more details at ocforums.com

Voltage was all over the place but pencil mod gives me a steady 1.5 volts.
installed Vista to try and can run 3dmark at stock.
41 idle 53 load.
Stable with prime95 (tested up to 3.8Ghz).
but beeps during graphics apps.
Vista rate my performance function beeps at 3d with any cpu setting. :x

noticed lots of artifacts in 3dmark06 when running at 3.2ghz need to recheck at 2.66 if still there I guess a graphics fault looks likely..

But now when i turn on my pc my processors temperature is at 70++ above the threshold.I havent done anything to my pc lately. Its even getting as far as 80++ plz do tell me what is wrong.I havent oc'ed my pc or whatever and i am using the default heatsink. It usually is not this hot, so what happened.

I got 3.6 on the stock voltage, and I think 3.8 also. If not stock, then slightly above. (like mid 1.4v) On that board. Also using Patriot DDR 667 @ 770mhz, 4-4-4-12

Running 805D @ 4.2Ghz in a modified Koolance PC3-725 (Air flow thru radiator reversed). MB P5N32-SLI DLX, 1GB Mushkin value ram PC-5300, XFX 7950GX2 (air cooled, think it's raising my temps a little cuz it sits right under the radiator) 2 X 74GB raptors, OCZ 700W PSU. Idles at 30C, full load at 35-36C. Don't have a meter to measure power consumption, but my electric bill averages about 10 bucks more a month since I started running it!!! N and Sbridges also liquid cooled.

Kaoru, what kind of thermal transfer compound did you use?? It's a possibility that it has broken down somehow, or was incorrectly applied. First thing: Check to make sure all fans are running and that no air intakes (or exhausts) to your case have not been blocked. Next: what are you using to monitor temps? What kind of MB do you have? If I were you I'd go and get some HIGH quality thermal transfer compound, CAREFULLY scrape your CPU and Heat Sink clean, then buff all remaining old compound off with a clean rag. Apply new compound depending on manu. recommendations, then reinstall heat sink.

I've got a stock D 805, ASUS P5WD2-E Premium and Zalman CNPS-9500....

It peaks at 65 degrees full load with two instances of Super Pi, 48ish no load.

The voltage is at 1.375v and interestingly enough, i've got the same spec number as listed on the tomshardware review - SL8ZH and i'm getting VERY similar temps. In fact, the only difference between mine and theirs is the required Vcore. (Theirs is 1.337v, mine is 1.362v).

I can be pretty certain that things are going to get hot past the 3.33Ghz barrier...

Specs:

Intel 805D (VID -> 1.300V)
P5WD2 Premium
2X1GB PQI Turbo PC5400
MSI Geforce 7900GT
2X Samsung Spinpoint SP2504C (in Raid 0)
Sony DRU-820A
Belkin 3-port PCI Firewire card

System is cooled using an Asetek Waterchill system with a 1x120mm Black Ice Pro Radiator with Silverstone FM121 120mm Fan. No shroud. CPU, GPU, Chipset all watercooled.

Included Sunon fan (with asetek) is very loud, especially when pressed directly against radiator. Because my processor use varies, the FM121 works better because it still moves just as much air, but offers front-bezel fan control as well.

I used same voltage increases as in THG article to get to 4.00 GHz, then am scaling back voltage to reduce temperature. Need the headroom to overclock the video card.

My 805 setup:

Cooling used: Stock cooler, modded with fan shroud
D 805 at stock 2.66 GHz, undervolted to 1.125 volts
Idle: 35.5C Load: 44C MAX, usually 42C
Mobo temp: 33C idle, 35C load

All inside a Dell Dimension 4500 case, with only one rear case fan.

Stress tested using 4 hours of dual prime, and has just compeleted capturing 5 hours of VHS, converting it to Home Theater quality DivX 6 on the fly. 8) Temps never got over 40 C at 60% cpu usage.

Did I mention I'm using a 250 watt PSU?

I have my 805 OC'ed to 3.2 stable with a thermaltake CL-P0370 idle temps are 32-33C; gaming never reaches 60C stays around 51-57C. Artic silver 5 applied. Also OC'ed to 3.4 without any problems. Running it on ddr 400 ram! I love this processor. Voltage is at 1.28. O Yaeh my mobo runs 25C all the time. I have 2 90mm fans 1 side 1 exaust rear, also PSU uses 2 80mm exuast fans.
