Potential Hard drive failure

hello all, I ran crystal disk info and apparently I have a hard drive warning. It states that I have 8 unreadable sectors and 8 pending sectors. Would this indicate that the hard drive is on its way out? Thanks https://imgur.com/gq6ZXF5

Yes, your drive has became unreliable. How long it will last depends on why it got in that way but usually number of bad sectors starts growing with time.

Just FYI, those 8 sectors may in fact be 8 LBAs, in which case it would be only 1 physical sector that is having problems … ATM.

Ok thanks i will go ahead and back up this drive then as I don’t feel like loosing everything on my computer. I will be ordering a 1tb ssd to replace the hhd. Just curious I have a 128gb ssd boot drive and a 2tb hard drive and was wondering if I could copy the info to both drives onto a single unified ssd?

Yes you can if that SSD is large enough. You could clone SSD (with OS I presume) on new SSD, make a new partition on it and copy contents of HDD to it. That's under assumption that HDD is for storage only. Drawback is price of large SSDs.
And since you mentioned backup, you should do regular backups of system disk and most important data anyway, you never know when a storage device may go belly up. My favorite is Macrium Reflect Free.

Thank you that's the info iI needed exactly. It sucks that the hdd is going south but what are you gonna do??? I'm gonna get a 1tb ssd which should be perfect. I only got the 2tb hdd because I thought I needed it but i've only used 600gb in 3 years. Although now that I think about it 2tb might be better if I am just doing 1 drive...that only leaves me with about 250gb left including ssd data and os with the 1tb...

1tb ssd would be great. Even that HDD could be used for not very important tasks if you partition it around bad sectors leaving them in un-partitioned space.
As I said before, it's important why those bad sectors developed. If it was just wear and tear, they will keep on multiplying and if just for one occurrence like power cut at wrong time or it was hit and head crashed in small space it may run for long time.
