Power connector issue for upgrade from GTX 560 to 1060

Upgrading from GTX 560 to 1060. My old card uses two 6-pin connectors for power, the new card uses a single 6+2-pin.

I was told that a dual 6-pin to single 6+2-pin power cable usually comes in the box, but it didn't come with the one I bought.

I tried looking online for that cable, but I wasn't able to find it anywhere. Any advice?

I did find an 8-pin power connector cable coming from my PSU, but it's not compatible with the 6+2-pin connector needed by the GPU. Here's some images. https://imgur.com/a/qTxmb The PSU cable is in the first photo, the GPU socket is the second photo.

I've read over and over again on other threads that if the GPU requires an 6+2 pin, a simple 6 pin won't provide enough power...

Regardless of how things worked out for the other reviewers, I'd like to do things 100% right if I can. Is there a dual 6 pin to single 8 pin/6+2 pin adapter available anywhere?

yes they are fairly common, also you need to plug in that cpu power cable

your mobo is either 4-pin or 8-pin, that cable splits into two 4-pins if your mobo only requires the former

also dual 6-pin to single 8-pin pcie is probably the only adapter that should be used honestly, there should be no issues as long as it is not made of low gauge wire

I'm looking for PCIe cables, not CPU power cables.

So you're 100% certain that the GPU will get enough power through a single 6-pin line, when it's made to accept a 6+2 plug? I'm still doubtful.

read what I said again, slowly

Yes, the card has a pretty low power consumption (max 100-120W).
