Power limit on GPU Overclocking

I understand that increasing the voltage can seriously damage the GPU when overclocking so I was just wondering if the same would happen if I increased the power limit usage?

Or is it not possible to do any serious damage when increasing the power limit to full for example?

Thanks in advance.

yeah, you can also do it, Power limit is the max power which can be drawn by your card, increasing this gives you more headroom for Overclocking. adjusting voltage means you are forcing the voltage you desire for the GPU. This can cause instability and decreased life of the card. you can increase the overclocking headroom by increasing the Power limit and try overclocking. increasing/ decreasing voltage is dangerous

Power Limit is the limit of consumption, for example take a 300W card, if you increase power limit, this limit will increase and also increases your overclocking abiity(Max overclocking frequencies). it Will not damage. But try not to increase it too much, your games will rubberband (if you dont know what is rubberband lag, search in google)

Thank you for the explanation.

So how does this differ from adjusting the volts?

Also to get the best overclock would I have to learn how to adjust the volts as well or can this be done by adjusting the power limit alone?
