Power limit throttling, i7 11700f on turbo mode?
i have been running into some stuttering issues and sometimes major frame rate drops on certain games.
my rig
I7 17700F @2.5ghz (4.9 turbo)
Nvida 3070
8X4 DDR4 3200mhz
1 tb ssd
1tb ssd

My cooling system is completely fine i am using a Coreliquid MSI mag
please help!!!

Those MSI coolers are failing left and right.
Can also be poor motherboard power delivery or overheating.

See if Intel's XTU app allows you to override the normal boost duration and/or power level limits....

Don't assume evidence of downclocking is a result of overheating and/ or VRM power throttling, as normal behavior would indeed be to downclock from standard all-core turbo highs after a mere 60-90 seconds at full power and clock speeds in order to meet TDP goal objectives...if clocks fall to 2600 MHz or so, that is actually intended behavior, as an 11700F is but a 65W TDP CPU, so, one naturally can not/should not expect it to maintain 11700K-like 4600 MHz all-core clock speeds for very long without some overrides/trickery in either BIOS, or, post-boot WIndows apps to override BIOS settings, which is what Intel's XTU accomplishes)

I ran the benchmark on IXTU and monitored my temperature, highest it would go was 72 Celsius for a few seconds on 100% utilization. This is a fairly new build (December 2021) and i game with comfortable temps sitting at 60 Celsius while gaming.

What would be a safe but also effective wattage to put my Turbo Boost Power max at?
(i dont know if this matters but i have a 750w psu)

Or what is the best way to get rid of game stuttering?

I have huge fps drops in almost any game that causes my CPU to power throttle. i am assuming the cpu is the issue. for example in black ops 3 i will go from 180fps and drop to 50 fps for a split second. My rig is pretty up to date but it is very annoying when my fps drop or my whole game stutters.

The default long term power limit for non K CPUs is only 65W. This will limit maximum performance. Either set both PL1 and PL2 power limits to the max in the bios or use ThrottleStop to maximize your power limits. Intel XTU is bloated and does not always set the CPU control registers consistently, especially after a sleep resume cycle.
