It's honestly really hard to say, powerline adapters work better in some buildings better then others, it all comes down to how well the building/house is wired and how much electrical interference there is. In an ideal situation you would get almost the equivalent as running an ethernet cable directly to the modem. The closer you are to the modem/router the better.

You would need 2 powerline adapters to accomplish what you're trying to do.

The first one you would plug in near your router, then you would run an ethernet cable from the router to the powerline adapter in the wall.

The second one you would plug in near your ps4, then an ethernet cable from THAT powerline adapter to your ps4.

Do I have to plug the powerline into the outlet directly or can I plug it into my power strip? If I plug it into wall will it block both plugs or just the one?
