Power off and log off in one step?

I can't figure out how to log off and shut down in one simple step like I used to in Windows 7. My kids just power down the PC and when I turn it back on I have to log them off first and then log myself on before I start working. Annoying!

I do have the option set to shut down when I press the power button. However I never use the actual power button on my tower to shut my PC off. I shut down through the Windows menu. I'm missing something here. Please be a bit more specific.

Okay, this is getting really frustrating for me. Even when I log off, then power down using the menu.....on a subsequent reboot Windows automatically logs the user back on that was previously logged in.

It worked but I find it stupid that I had to go through this in order to prevent Windows from logging in automatically to the person that was last logged in (even if that person had logged off prior to shutting down.
